How often should you valet your car?
There’s no single right answer, but a simple rhythm keeps your car looking great and protects its value. Here’s what we suggest for most drivers in North Devon.
A simple schedule
- Every 2 to 4 weeks: a proper hand wash to lift road grime and salt before it etches the paint.
- Every few months: a full valet to keep the interior fresh and the exterior protected.
- Once or twice a year: a machine polish and fresh protection (or a ceramic top-up) to restore gloss and guard against the weather.
Why more often near the coast?
Salt air, sea spray and winter road salt are tough on paintwork. If you live in Westward Ho!, Instow, Appledore or anywhere near the water, washing a little more often and keeping a good protective layer on pays off.
